Worship at Countryside

Renew. Recharge. Rejoice.

At Countryside UMC, worship is at the heart of who we are. Whether you join us in person or online, our services offer a welcoming space to praise God, hear Scripture, and encounter Christ through uplifting music and meaningful messages. We celebrate traditional and contemporary styles of worship, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to experience God’s love, find spiritual renewal, and join in community.

Holy Communion is offered every 1st Sunday & other holy occasions. Scroll down for more information about our current sermon series and worship opportunities.

8:30 Sanctuary Service

This service is a traditional feel with a laid-back atmosphere. Music is provided through traditional organ and piano as well as contemporary gospel groups and other special music, including the Countryside Orchestra. Children are welcomed into worship through children’s time, and the messages for both children and adults provide thought-provoking lessons and an uplifting atmosphere for everyone.

9:45 Celebration Service

This service is a contemporary, very upbeat worship experience designed to help you experience the Spirit, with music provided by our lively praise band and worship team. A brief teaching message is provided to give the participants an uplifting inspiration to carry them through the week.

11:00 Traditional Service

This service is the most traditional service offered at Countryside, complete with beautiful music provided by our organ and piano, in conjunction with our large and diverse choirs. Children are invited to participate in children’s time, and an inspirational and challenging message is provided to help you learn about and connect with God. This is the most popular service attended by families with young children, but enjoyed by people of all ages.

Sunday Small Groups (Sunday School)

We offer special programs for people of all ages, with small groups that provide a curriculum engaging the Bible in fun and enlightening ways while focusing on building relationships with each other and with God. Our hope is for all God’s children to own their faith and value in being a part of a faith community. Summer small groups vary by year, always taking a break to allow families time to worship together and to work with vacation schedules of many of our families and volunteers.

8:30 Sactuary Service

Our 8:30 a.m. traditional worship service offers a peaceful and reverent start to your Sunday. Rooted in the rich heritage of the Christian faith, this service features familiar hymns led by organ and choir, thoughtful liturgy, and a message grounded in Scripture. It’s a meaningful time to center your heart before the day begins — a space where quiet reflection and timeless traditions invite you to renew your spirit and find strength for the week ahead. For those who appreciate sacred rhythm and beautiful ritual, this service provides a comforting sense of connection and continuity within the life of faith.

9:45 Celebration Service

The 9:45 a.m. contemporary worship service is vibrant, joyful, and Spirit-filled — a space where you can come just as you are and encounter God in an uplifting community. Led by our worship band, the music is modern and energetic, creating an atmosphere of joy and praise. Messages connect everyday life with timeless truth, helping you grow deeper in faith and purpose. It’s a service where children, youth, and adults together can laugh, sing, and experience grace in motion. Whether you’re new to church or returning after some time away, our contemporary worship is a place to recharge your faith and feel renewed by God’s presence.

11:00 Traditional Service

Our 11:00 a.m. traditional service offers one more opportunity to worship in a sacred, time-honored way. The choir, organ, and liturgy guide the congregation through songs and prayers that connect us to centuries of Christian faith and devotion. This service is uplifting yet reflective — blending the beauty of tradition with the warmth of community. Whether you’ve attended church for years or are seeking a place to belong, the 11:00 service provides a welcoming space to rejoice, give thanks, and find renewal for the week ahead.

Volunteer

Countryside welcomes you to participate in worship as a leader in a variety of different ways. Show your smile to members and guests as a Greeter. Assist with seating and collect offering by being an Usher. Offer prayer during worship. Share the cup and bread during Holy Communion. Run our audiovisual computers and equipment. Join one of our bell or vocal choirs. Share your love for music in the Orchestra or Praise Band. We have many ways for you to share your talents with others during Worship!

Greet

Why not let your light shine?! Countryside greeters are our friendly ambassadors, sharing smiles and handshakes. Always welcoming to all God’s children – every single Sunday and every day in between. Assist with opening doors, hanging coats, answering questions and more. Help at our Welcome Center by providing: directions around the church, information on current activities and events, assistance with special registrations and more! Contact Brenda to get started.

Usher

Before, during, and after worship services at 8:30, 9:45 & 11:00 am, Countryside ushers help welcome people into a time of worship by offering bulletin information, assistive devices, and help find an open seat! They also participate in the collection and our offering of monetary gifts. After services, ushers assist visitors out of our space of worship with friendly wishes for the rest of the week to come. Jamie will help you get connected with an usher leader so you can start right away!

Pray

Prayer is an important part of our discipleship. We have prayer warriors who pray on a regular basis for those who are on the concern list. If you are interested in joining this group in praying for others, please contact Frank Towle.

Holy Communion

We would love to have you join our team of rotating volunteers who participate in Holy Communion. Countryside serves Holy Communion the 1st week of every month as well as during special services and sacraments such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Holy Week. Serve at one of several stations to offer bread or the cup and be a special part of these blessings! Contact Jamie for more information.

Audio Visual

Run the sound board, show videos & record worship! We are always looking to welcome new Worship Leaders to our Audio Video Technician team. Technicians are responsible for running our computer systems to broadcast and record both audio and visual components during worship services. Please contact us if you want to share your experience and talent!
